I don't know, it's kind of unorganized. Things are hard to find. I wish they had an inventory search gui up front.
Never had a bad experience. Prices are fair, sometimes slightly overpriced but also sometimes VERY underpriced compared to eBay and current values.
I don't always have a good interaction with the staff here, honestly they seem to change their whole aura off judgement. I still try to be polite though
Traded two overflowing totes of paperbacks and hardbacks containing items that had only hit the shelves within the past eight months. All my trade-in books were bought new (Amazon and B&N) and kept in pristine condition (even the dust covers). I got less than $10. I used the time they needed to "evaluate and price my books" to walk back to the areas where the books I had just brought in were shelved and found four examples for the exact titles (one of the titles by Douglas Preston, two by Lincoln Childs and a Kim Harrison). Each of their used versions were priced at $10 and higher and were not in as good condition as mine. Basically, they paid me less than a dollar per book and then marked them up for resale over $10 per book. Do the math... 33 cents for each individual trade-in (averaged against the number I traded and the price they gave me) subtracted from an average 2nd and Charles shelf price of $11.99 and you get a gross profit of $11.66. Do yourself a favor... go through the headache of having a yard-sale and get more for your books. Giving your precious reading materials to 2nd and Charles is like throwing them into the trash. Without dropping names... two employees told me pretty much the same thing.
You'll find something cool, find something you'll buy, something you really want and come back for (it won't be there when you come back, trust me) and something you can't afford. Oh yeah did I mention the have bins of free stuff every day?
If you watch movies, play video games (and board games!), read books, listen to music, not from the area, never herd of 2nd and Charles or have time to kill. Go. Now. Find yourself or lose yourself.
I love this place! It's great for books, movies, games, musical instruments, music of all kinds, and decorations. It's a child friendly place, and overall great for people of all ages. It's difficult to go in for just a few minutes. Absolutely awesome service!
Nerd/geek/bookworm/music lover/movie junkie/gamer/collector paradise. I go almost every day or even multiple times a day (not a joke). Attentive, friendly employees and very helpful, even if it's your third time there in the same day.
